Integrate the voice of your MS Teams users with those of your CISCO Callmanager switchboard. Direct Routing.
More and more we work from home and we have the need to stay connected with our colleagues, clients, suppliers both at the voice level and at the video level, chat, document management, application integration … We have detected the following need: Interoperability between MS Teams users and CISCO Call Manager users, that is, an MS Teams user can talk to a Cisco CallManager user and vice versa, and also an MS Teams user can make / receive calls to / from abroad. Direct routing.
In the following video, Jonathan Gómez, Solutel’s pre-sales engineer, presents a demonstration of this interoperability between a CISCO softphone user and an MS Teams softphone user .
How to integrate our CISCO CallManager switchboard with our users with MS teams?
Although MS Teams is primarily used as an internal communication tool, with the direct routing we can give telephone capabilities to Microsoft Teams users, allowing the MS Teams platform to be used as a complete business telephone system (PBX).
As you have seen in the video, direct routing allows you to connect MS Teams to your CISCO switchboard and that MS Teams users can use the platform as a voice solution and be able to make and receive external calls.
And the solution is simple “ direct routing “ , to Microsoft office 365 licenses with the tennant phone system (for example E3 or E5 …), it adds four key elements: a Session Border Controller, SIP Trunks, dedicated public IP and certificates.
Session Border Controller is a voice gateway, which can be a CISCO ISR or CCSR 1000V router with IOS XE.
